From the DAL Chairman - Virginia Tippen - Dec 2005:

Lost Sheep by W and V Tippen

Margaret Franklin has lost some sheep
And can’t tell where to find them.
We don’t want them alone.
We welcome them home,
Bringing new chapters behind them

DAL chair fall asleep
To dream she hears them Praying
But to awake to empty mail
For still DAL’s are drifting

Diocesan Presidents hold out Shepherds hook, of love and safe community
DAL chairs determined to find them;
They were found, but life had drawn them to leave their sisters behind them

It happened one day, DAL chair did try to carry a message of faithfulness to vow
There she espied scattered sisters, at Assembly ready to rededicate
To a common life and vows without the politic

We heaved a sigh and wiped our eyes
To the membership chair we race
And tried what she could, as a shepherdess should,
That former At-Large members should be properly blessed

Matthew 9:36
When he saw the crowds, he had compassion on them because they were confused and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd.
Application: Jesus was overwhelmed with compassionate pity for the people. His response echoes the deep inner mercy of God, often described in the Old Testament. Jesus came to be the Shepherd, the one who could show people how to avoid life’s pitfalls.

John 10:14
I am the good shepherd: I know my own sheep, and they know me.

Little Bo Peep Mother Goose

Little Bo Peep has lost her sheep
And can’t tell where to find them.
Leave them alone, And they’ll come home,
Wagging their tails behind them.

Little Bo Peep fell fast asleep,
And dreamt she heard them bleating;
But when she awoke, she found it a joke,
For shill they all were fleeting.

Then up she took her little crook,
Determined for to find them;
She found them indeed, but it made her heart bleed,
For they’d left all theirs tails behind them!

It happened one day, as Bo Peep did stray
Unto a meadow hard by—
There she espied their tails, side by side,
All hung on a tree to dry.

She heaved a sigh and wiped her eye,
And over the hillocks she raced;
And tried what she could, as a shepherdess should,
That each tail should be properly placed.
