St. James the Apostle, Conroe - Sunday, May 1, 2005: The DOK admitted three new member to their chapter. It has been about ten years since they have had any new members and they intend to be more evangelistic in the future. Donna Beene, Mary Gere Bridger, and Melinda Zuber were admitted. The Rev. Tory Lightcap was the Celebrant at the Eucharist. Jo Ann Matheny was the Study Leader for these new members.

St. Matthew's, Austin - Sunday, May 8, 2005 (Mother's Day): A new Junior DOK chapter was instituted: Doves of Christ at St. Matthew's Episcopal Church in Austin, Texas. The new Junior DOK members are: Erin, Shannon, Shelby, and Sarah. Sponsors were Isabel Bursk and Carol Price. Erika Anzaldua was on hand to present the new charter. A dinner was held on Tuesday, May 3 to honor the new Junior DOK members (picture on right).


St. Luke the Evangelist, Houston - March 19, 2005: The Hazel Wilson-Weaver Chapter of the Daughters of the King held a Quiet Day with a theme of "Love Conquers All". The speaker was the Rev Martha Frances, former Vicar of Lord of the Streets (pictured on the right). In the picture on the left, Seated (left to right): Beverely Griffin, Sharon Daniels, Sandra Rigsby (postulate), and Rosemary Clark; Standing (l to r): Verna Reece and Pat Stevenson. 

Daughter at Large - Stephanie Sawyer, Church of the Redeemer, Houston - June 2005: Stephanie Sawyer, a Daughter at Large from Church of the Redeemer in Houston, embroidered a beautiful altar overlay and stole, called "New Life". The picture is from the dedication service in June 2005 with Stephanie and the interim rector at Redeemer, Rev. Craig Morgan. It was dedicated to Stephanie's grandmother, Lilyan Denny Scott, who taught Stephanie by example the skills of sewing and loving the Lord. Stephanie is now working on a palium, a 'cooler' version of the full-scale chasible the priest wears at the Eucharist.

St. Luke the Evangelist, Houston - July 3, 2005: The Hazel Wilson-Weaver Chapter of the Daughters of the King installed 3 new daughters, including their rector Suzi Robertson. In the picture on the left are the 3 new Daughters of the King: Marcia Sadberry, Parish Missioner; Sandra Rigsby; and Rev. Suzi Robertson, rector. The local chapter says their rector is now "a Daughter and a Father". In the 2nd photo, Janie Reed is pinning the DOK cross on Suzi during the ceremony. 

St. Mary's, West Columbia - Sep 11, 2005: On September 11, 2005, two new members were installed at St. Mary’s Episcopal Church, West Columbia, Texas by Fr. Peter Conaty, rector. New members Kandy Taylor-Hille and Maxine DeBord are pictured with current members Katherine Chucko, Deborah Burns, Georgette Hosford and Cecile Johnson along with Fr. Peter Conaty. Not pictured are members Doris Grosvenor and Jean Ferree. New Member classes were offered to the SW Convocation chapters by St. Mary’s Chapter and lead by Deborah Burns, St. Mary’s president and assisted by SW Convocation VP Dianne Kilgus. St. Mary’s Chapter was chartered in 2003 and we are thrilled to have expanded our membership to eight members.

Calvary, Richmond - Jan 22, 2006: In an installation service presided by the Rev. Frankie Rodriquez, five women were admitted to Calvary Richmond's DOK Salome Chapter. The women had previously received training from Maggie Salazar. Several Junior Daughters were also installed. In addition to their prayer ministry at the church, the Daughters are active in outreach and service ministies. The women sew baby booties for clients at the Pregnancy Resource Center in Rosenberg. The prayer shawl ministry, begun by Therese Thiebeau, has resulted in close to 50 prayer shawls being given away. The Salome Chapter meets on the second Sunday of the month, led by co-presidents Sheila McCarn and Lynne Watkins, beginning with a soup and salad luncheon. 
Holy Comforter, Spring - Jun 18, 2006: In an installation service presided by the Rev. Steve Ferguson, four women were admitted to Holy Comforter's DOK Sylvia Wells Chapter. The new members are: Jeannette Williams, Evelyn Pinkham, Sarah Bishop, and Ginger Harrison.

Stafford - All Saints - Dec 6, 2009: On Sunday December 6, 2009, the new Junior Daughter Directress, Bettye Bryant, presented nine girls to Rev. Stephen Whaley, the new rector of All Saints, Stafford, Texas. In the candlelight service, the girls began their three month preparation for membership in the new Jr. Daughter chapter at the church. The Advent chapter of The Daughters of the King is mentor for the girls.

The candlelight service for the nine candidates are presented to the Rev. Stephen Whaley and the congregation by Bettye Bryant, directress. Daughters of the King, Advent chapter, stand behind the girls.
