Saturday, February 20 from 8:30AM to 2:30PM the Daughters of the Good Shepherd Chapter is sponsoring a Quiet Day for creating and praying with images entitled Illuminations Prayershop. Saturday, March 6, 2010 - Lenten Mini-Retreat - Church of the Good Shepherd, Tomball
"St. Benedict on the Freeway" - Hearing the "still small voice of God" during Lent in the midst of the speed and sensory overload of modern life. Sponsored by The Community of Hope groups of Good Shepherd, Holy Comforter, and St. Cuthbert’s Episcopal Churches
The retreat will be from 9:30am-2:30pm, with lunch provided. It is for members of The Community of Hope & Daughters of the King, and Friends. There is a suggested donation of $5. Wear comfortable clothing and bring something personal that has sacred significance (a favorite poem, piece of music, book, or story), a journal, a Bible, and iPod, if desired. Leave behind your cell phone and worldly cares!
The Rev. Evelyn Hornaday, Interim Rector of St. Margaret’s Episcopal Church, Little Rock, Arkansas, will be our Retreat Guide, pointing us towards spiritually formative practices that have been worked out in the past and creatively adapting those disciplines to twenty-first century life. As one who incorporates these disciplines in her daily life and seeks regular spiritual direction to continue her journey into the heart of God, she will offer a calming and generous outpouring of the Holy Spirit.
